Asalamu Alaikoum, welcome Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff. I hope everyone has had a restful summer, a Ramdan filled with Ibadah, and an Eid full of wonderful memories. We are excited to start the new 2014-2015 academic school year with a success, insha'Allah. May Allah SWT make our year the most productive and the most successful academic year to date. We have quite a lot of exciting events, competitions, activities, field trips, and many more things planned for this year. Our scope and Sequences have been updated, and our DCAs have been reviewed. We look forward to the 1st day of school on Monday, August 11, 2014, and we look forward to meeting everyone at the Student/Parent Orientation on Friday, August 8, 2014, insha'Allah..
We welcome all parents and students to the 1st day of school. If you did not attend the Parent Orientation/Open House on Friday, please check in the front office to see the new classroom assignments for your child's grade level.
School Supply Lists
The Bursary Committee will have its final meeting for Financial Aid Applications this Friday, August 8, 2014, insha'Allah. So, all applications that will be processed before school begins must be submitted no later than Thursday, August 7, 2014. Please make sure you turn-in a completed application with all of the required information. Incomplete applications or applications with missing forms will NOT be processed!
Most of the uniforms have arrived. We are still waiting on 50% of the Girls' uniforms Parents may pick up their uniforms on Friday, August 8, 2014 during Orientation from PTA in the middle classroom of the middle trailer.
The 2014 Nominated Teacher of the Year is Sr. Muna. She is a Islamic Studies and Qur’an teacher for grades 5 – 8. She has been teaching in Darul Arqam SW for several years and is proud to be a member of the DASW staff. She recently received her Ijazah, and we are very proud of her and her accomplishments. Another teacher has quoted, “Sr. Muna is the true representation of the model modern Muslima, and she is an inspiration to all.” A student has quoted, “Sr. Muna is really kind and nice, and I enjoy her Islamic Studies class the most because I feel like I am learning so much information about my religion that I didn’t know before.” A 5th grade student stated, “Sr. Muna is so patient with us, and she is truly appreciative of all students who always try their best to read Qur’an, especially those whose native tongue is not Arabic because she says they are trying to learn Qur’an and a whole new language at the same time.”

While Darul Arqam Southwest School does make every effort to keep tuition and fees at a very competitive low price, we know that there are still several families in need of financial assistance. We do offer Financial Aid to families, but since our Financial Aid funds come only from Zakat, only those families who qualify to receive Zakat can receive Financial Aid.
Process for Financial Aid:
1. Register student in the school FIRST
2. Fill out the complete Financial Aid Application and provide ALL required documentation. Incomplete applications will NOT be processed.
